6/1/2009 - Frito Lay Volunteers to Landscape Home for Individuals with Disabilities

(Salt Lake City, Utah) On Tuesday, June 2nd from 2-6 p.m. 20 volunteers from Frito Lay will help landscape a home that Columbus Community Center operates for 8 individuals with disabilities. Frito Lay is donating the labor and materials to complete the project. The Park Creeke residential facility is located at 3584 South 500 East in South Salt Lake.

Columbus has operated the Park Creeke program for over 25 years. With the help of Frito Lay volunteers, the 8 residents will enjoy a space where they can gather and barbeque and socialize on evenings and weekends after they have come home from their jobs in the community.

Columbus Community Center has provided living and employment supports for individuals with disabilities since 1968. For more information about Columbus or this volunteer project, call Stephanie Mackay, Director of Development, at 262-1552, ext. 136.
